Rivernorm — let rivers flow freely again

A project running since 2016 within the HO'X Innovation Space. We protect the natural resources of rivers, with particular attention to diadromous fish that need to migrate freely between fresh and marine waters.

Ecological continuity

We restore the passability of rivers at hydrotechnical barriers so that nature can flow freely once again.

Fish passes

We design and build passages that let fish safely overcome weirs, sills and dams.

We protect species that need to migrate freely between fresh and marine waters.

Population recovery

Fish reach their spawning grounds and rebuild natural populations — the river returns to balance.

A river without barriers

Rivernorm focuses on restoring the ecological continuity of rivers by building fish passes at hydrotechnical barriers. This allows fish to safely overcome obstacles, reach their spawning grounds and rebuild their natural populations.

The project combines nature conservation, responsible water management and practical solutions that support river life. It is an approach in the spirit of HO’X — balanced ekosystems: a balance between human activity and the natural rhythm of the environment.
