Seed companies

To help scientists test an idea in the market, we set up special-purpose companies with a short lifespan. On seed capital we verify whether an idea can be brought to market.

As the vehicle, HO’X has adopted the Simple Joint-Stock Company (P.S.A.) — registration for PLN 250 and no social-security (ZUS) contributions for officers on the management and supervisory bodies. This makes it possible to involve people on a voluntary basis as Supervising Directors.

Seed companies are not established for profit. They are special-purpose entities whose task is to verify the potential of an innovative idea or form of support. That is why they exist only for a short time.

• ZX EDU Prosta Spółka Akcyjna

  ZX EDU was an educational and research venture focused on exploring how knowledge and practices that foster a deeper sense of safety can be adapted to the educational environment.

  The project centred on children, young people and parents. Its aim was to look for simple methods that help build greater calm, emotional stability, self-confidence and better functioning in school and family relationships.

  ZX EDU was not a classic therapeutic programme. It was rather a space for testing new forms of support: conversations, exercises, observations, educational materials and practices that could help young people better cope with tension, pressure, anxiety and a sense of being lost.

  369 TOOLS acted as an incubation tool for initiatives related to human development, protection of nature and the responsible use of resources. The company helped move from idea to practice: it organised a project's assumptions, tested its social and environmental relevance, built a first operating model and prepared it for further development.

  The company developed the idea of iVerse — a space of the inner voice in which a person can hear their own verse of life. We focused on silence, conversation, voice, regeneration and simple experiences close to nature, supporting inner calm, mindfulness and a return to what is true within us. What mattered most was what is alive: presence, breath, relationship, word, sound and movement.

  GOODWAY CHEM P.S.A. was a seed company established to support a group of Polish chemists in their work on verifying the influence of resonance fields on the energy parameters of gaseous fuels.

  The main area of interest was to test whether applying certain physical interactions can increase the efficiency of gas combustion and thereby reduce fuel consumption and lower carbon dioxide emissions.

  The project was research- and implementation-oriented. Its aim was to combine chemical, physical and engineering knowledge with practical application in the energy sector and environmental protection.

• NANO-DI BIO Sp. z o.o.

  NANO-DI BIO was a seed company dealing with the safety of new solutions in contact with people and the environment. Its work focused on nanotechnology — very small particles used in industry, medicine, cosmetics, food and everyday materials.

  The company held that progress should go hand in hand with responsibility. It therefore investigated whether nanoparticles can penetrate the human body, affect health, accumulate in the environment or disturb the natural biological balance.

  In the course of its work, NANO-DI BIO identified three key areas of risk:

  1. Micro- and nanoplastics in the human body. The company analysed the risk linked to their presence in the human body; this area was associated with inflammatory conditions, the circulatory system and a possible increase in cardiovascular risk.

  2. Titanium dioxide E171. NANO-DI BIO studied the safety of nanoparticles used in food and consumer products. A particular example was E171, about which serious concerns arose regarding a possible impact on cells' genetic material and human health.

  3. Carbon nanotubes. The company also identified risks related to inhaling nanomaterials, including carbon nanotubes — mainly the possible effect of nanoparticles on the lungs, oxidative stress, inflammatory reactions and fibrosis processes.

  In a broader sense, NANO-DI BIO cared for the planet by promoting a responsible approach to innovation: first check the impact of a solution on people and nature before it comes into widespread use.

• CANN.IN Sp. z o.o.

  CANN.IN developed concepts related to the use of natural herbs in supporting human well-being. It focused on simple, safe and responsible ways of using plants that have been present for centuries in traditions of supporting the body's balance, regeneration and everyday psychophysical resilience.

  Key direction: natural support for the nervous system and regeneration — herbs and plants as well as cannabinoids that support calming down, better sleep, reduced tension and everyday psychophysical balance. Put simply: natural plants that could help a person regain calm, regeneration and a better connection with their own body.

  The effect of active compounds from the cannabinoid group was studied. On that basis, further work was concluded and this seed company was wound down.
